A 17-year-old dude got nabbed and hit with arson charges in connection to the Jones Road Wildfire in Ocean County. The prosecutors spilled the tea that another teen, who they didn’t bother to name, was arrested for setting the fire ablaze. The charges slapped on this mysterious 17-year-old include aggravated arson, regular arson, and hindering apprehension. Plus, on top of that, a 19-year-old guy named Joseph Kling, who was already in the slammer for aggravated arson and arson, now also got charged with hindering apprehension.
Kling had to show his face virtually in court on Friday morning for a hearing to decide if he should keep chillin’ in jail. The decision got pushed back to 2:30 p.m., but before that could even happen, the cops dropped the bombshell about the second teen getting busted. The Jones Road Wildfire started burning stuff up on April 22, torching a whopping 15,300 acres in its path, according to the New Jersey Forest Fire Service. As of Monday afternoon, the fire is apparently 75% under control.
Anyway, Joseph Kling, the 19-year-old dude accused of sparking this destructive wildfire in Ocean County, had to face the music in front of a judge on Thursday. Brian Sheehan from NBC10 spilled the tea on Kling and the wildfire, so you might wanna check that out if you’re curious. Not really sure why this matters, but it seems like things are heating up for these young firestarters. Hope they learn their lesson in the end.
