Well, it looks like the end of the workweek in the Big Apple is going to be a bit damp and blustery. Rain is expected to make its way into the New York metro area starting Wednesday morning and linger through Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. By Thursday night, we could see up to 1.5 inches of precipitation, with gusts possibly reaching 25 mph.
Meteorologist John Murray mentioned that there might still be a few showers hanging around on Thursday night and Friday, but he assured that the risk of any major flooding is pretty low. He described the rainfall as steady and light, more like a continuous drizzle than a downpour. Temperatures are expected to drop on Thursday, with highs only reaching the mid 50s, which is about 15 degrees cooler than usual for this time of year when highs typically hover in the low 70s.
As we head into the weekend, the chances of showers will decrease, but Friday might still see some lingering rain. Cloudy skies are expected to stick around through Saturday. Murray mentioned that Sunday will bring totally dry conditions and more sunshine, along with a rebound in temperatures to the 70s. So, it seems like the weekend will be a nice break from the rainy weather we’ve been experiencing.
