Kids were in for a treat at the White House when they discovered some fun facts about President Trump during a special briefing held by press secretary Karoline Leavitt. The event took place on “Take Your Child to Work Day” at the executive mansion, where children of administration staffers and journalists got the chance to ask questions and learn more about the 47th president.
During the briefing, one curious youngster asked Leavitt about Trump’s candy consumption habits. The press secretary revealed that the commander in chief has quite the sweet tooth and enjoys indulging in pink Starbursts and Tootsie Rolls on a regular basis. Another child wanted to know about Trump’s go-to order at McDonald’s, to which Leavitt disclosed that he’s a fan of their hamburgers and French fries, but his ultimate favorite food is a juicy steak.
The children, ranging from infants to 11-year-olds, filled about half of the 49 seats in the briefing room, with their proud parents watching from the sidelines. The atmosphere was lighthearted and full of laughter as the kids asked Leavitt a variety of questions, from Trump’s firing history to his favorite ice cream flavor (spoiler alert: it’s a chocolate sundae). Despite the touchy subjects broached by the young reporters, Leavitt handled each inquiry with humor and grace, even when faced with identifying the president’s favorite child or least favorite news outlet. The event provided a unique opportunity for kids to get a glimpse into the personal preferences and habits of the leader of the United States.
