Man, it’s been a rough week for Diana Agudela and her family. The poor woman was just trying to get home from work on her e-bike when she was brutally attacked on Randall’s Island. Imagine riding your usual route back to Astoria and then suddenly being found hours later by a man walking his dog. That’s some scary stuff right there.

Agudela’s daughter, Stephanie Rodas, shared that her mom had to be resuscitated during surgery on Wednesday and is now facing another risky surgery on Thursday. She was barely recognizable in the hospital due to the extensive swelling and bruises on her face. Poor thing had multiple skull fractures and brain hemorrhaging, which led to the need for part of her skull to be removed to relieve the swelling. Can you even imagine the pain and fear she must be going through?

Rodas is pleading with everyone to hold their loved ones close tonight because she can’t do the same for her mom. It’s heartbreaking to hear that the doctors aren’t sure if Agudela will even make it through this next surgery. The NYPD is on the hunt for whoever did this, but with no surveillance cameras on the bike path, it’s like searching for a needle in a haystack. Rodas is also calling for more safety measures on Randall’s Island, like lights and cameras, to prevent this kind of tragedy from happening again. Let’s hope they catch the scumbag who did this and bring them to justice.
