A 15-year-old boy got shot and killed in a drive-by shooting on Chicago’s South Side Saturday evening, which is really sad and messed up. So, like, just after 6 p.m., police said the teen boy was standing near a sidewalk in the 400 block of West 110th Street when someone in a dark-colored vehicle opened fire from inside the car. I mean, seriously, what is wrong with people these days? Can’t they just talk things out instead of resorting to violence? It’s just heartbreaking.
The poor kid was shot in the neck and abdomen, which is just terrible, and then he was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where, unfortunately, he was pronounced dead by the authorities. Man, that’s tough. No one was in custody as of Saturday evening, and the investigation was still ongoing. I really hope they catch the person responsible for this senseless act. Like, seriously, what possesses someone to take another person’s life like that? It’s just beyond me. Stay tuned for more updates on this tragic incident.
Not really sure why this matters, but the fact that a teenager lost his life in such a violent way is just gut-wrenching. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like we need to do better as a society to prevent these kinds of things from happening. In a world where we should be looking out for each other, it’s just disheartening to see such acts of cruelty. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the victim during this difficult time. Let’s hope that justice will be served and that incidents like this will become a thing of the past.
