So, like, apparently there were some dust storm warnings all over Illinois on Friday night, especially in the Chicago area. The National Weather Service was all like, “Yo, watch out for this convectively driven dust that’s gonna mess with your visibility, but it’s gotta be more than a quarter mile and less than a mile to really count.” And like, you need winds of 25 mph or more for these warnings to kick in.

According to the NWS website, these dust storms just pop up outta nowhere like a massive wall of dust and debris that can be miles long and thousands of feet high. Super dangerous for driving ’cause you can’t see a thing, man. The warnings were in effect for a bunch of Chicago-area counties like La Salle, Will, Grundy, and Kankakee.

State officials were all like, “Yo, if you’re on these highways, you’re in for some life-threatening travel.” They pointed out specific mile markers on highways like I-39, I-55, I-57, I-80, I-90, I-94, I-294, I-355, and some Indiana highways too. So, like, stay safe out there, folks. Watch out for that dust, man.
