So, this guy Ryan Hemphill, who’s apparently an attorney, is accused of doing some pretty messed up stuff to six women in his Midtown apartment. Like, we’re talking about rape, torture, and humiliation here. And get this, he used shock collars and electric cattle prods on these poor women, and even recorded everything with cameras in his place.
The Manhattan District Attorney, Alvin L. Bragg, dropped the bomb on this 43-year-old dude with a whopping 116 charges. I mean, we’re talking about rape, predatory sexual assault, and giving women drugs against their will. Not cool, man. The NYPD Commissioner, Jessica S. Tisch, called it a “campaign of violence and cruelty” that went after vulnerable women. Yikes.
Oh, and it gets worse. Hemphill also threatened these women with guns and knives, and even tried to scare them by saying he knew “half the precinct.” Real tough guy, huh? And he wasn’t done there – he punched, slapped, handcuffed, and even urinated on these women. Disgusting.
After one of the women had the guts to speak up, Hemphill tried to bribe her with $2,000 to stay silent. What a slimeball. And get this, all this horrific stuff went down from October to December last year. Hemphill got busted on March 1, and the police found all sorts of weapons and drugs at his place. Seriously messed up.
There’s a lot more to this twisted story, and the DA thinks there might be more victims out there. If you’ve been through something similar, call the Special Victims Division at 212-335-3400. Don’t be afraid to speak up, these people are here to help you. No trial date yet, but Hemphill’s lawyer didn’t have anything to say about all this. Shocker.
