The Incident

The shooting occurred just after 11 p.m. Wednesday outside a venue on 144th Place where a private event was in progress. Police reported that a group of four men approached the venue while walking east from 91st Avenue on 144th Place. Approximately 15 people were waiting in line outside the venue while others were exiting, and around 90 individuals were inside the venue at the time of the shooting.

Following the incident, the four suspects fled the scene on foot, heading west on 91st Avenue toward 143d Place, where they ultimately got into a light-colored sedan with out-of-state license plates. The NYPD’s new chief of patrol, Philip Rivera, condemned the violence, emphasizing that those responsible will be apprehended and face justice. The event space where the shooting took place hosts various venues, including the Amazura Concert Hall.
